The speaker at the event was the former Custos of St Mary and member of the Georgian Society, The Honourable A.A.Bobby Pottinger. A speaker with a great deal of knowledge of the Georgian Era in Jamaica. He also regaled us with stories of the parish of St Mary from a bygone era. The President of the Georgian Society, The Honourable Paul Muchett , Custos of Trelawny, was present and gave remarks on the standing of the GSJ. Miss Pauline Simmonds, secretary of the GSJ, added her own touch to the celebrations by giving thoughts on the progress and function of the GSJ.
The chairman of the St Ann/St Mary Chapter, Ms Claudja Alexander, kept the afternoon lively with a raffle and a gate prize which gave the members moments of laughter and fun. In this beautiful setting, with willing participants including the committee members, Marcia, Elfs, Angela, and Avis. We say thank you to those who attended. Hoping to make this a annual event we look forward to next year's luncheon.
Until then remember; to know your history is to know who you are. Join us and discover more of the rich history of Jamaica through the Georgian Society.
